Executive Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Contract: 12 month fixed-term maternity cover
Location: Central London / hybrid (3 days on site after a 3 month probationary period)
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Executive Assistant to provide support to the Director of a leading Barristers Chambers, alongside hands-on administrative support across marketing, events and HR.
This is a varied and fast-paced role suited to an organised, proactive EA who enjoys juggling multiple priorities and being a key support figure within a professional services environment. You’ll play an integral role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the chambers while contributing to wider strategic and operational activity.
Key Responsibilities
EA Support
- Full diary management, expenses and meeting coordination for the Director
- Drafting correspondence, policies, briefings and meeting minutes
- Booking travel, preparing itineraries, and organising hospitality
- Managing contracts, insurance schedules and compliance tracking
- Planning and coordinating internal events and meetings
- Acting as a key liaison with internal and external stakeholders
- Supporting ad-hoc projects as required
Marketing & Events
- Supporting the development and delivery of annual marketing plans
- Managing CRM and event platforms to track engagement and attendance
- Coordinating seminars, client events and conferences (UK and overseas)
- Supporting social media activity (LinkedIn), website updates and content
- Producing and maintaining marketing materials and brochures
- Coordinating PR activity and assisting with press releases
- Managing legal directory submissions and awards processes
- Tracking marketing spend and producing monthly reports
HR Administration
- Maintaining accurate HR records and personnel files
- Tracking staff absence and leave
- Preparing contracts, onboarding paperwork, NDAs and references
- Coordinating recruitment for administrative roles
- Organising staff training and maintaining certification records
- Supporting compliance with employment law and GDPR
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as an EA supporting senior leadership (5+ years preferred)
- Exposure to marketing and/or HR administration
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Confident multitasking in a busy, professional environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with CRM systems and marketing platforms (e.g. Canva, Eventbrite or similar) desirable
- Professional services experience advantageous
